Extra Large Drains for FlexPak Leak Detectors

At FlexPak Leak Detectors Inc., we specialize in the manufacturing of package leak detectors and optional control packages for our leak detectors. Our flagship product, the FlexPak Leak Detector, is an acrylic vacuum chamber capable of performing a multitude of seal integrity tests for a vast array of packages. The most common package leak detector test is the Bubble Emission test (compliant with ASTM Standard D3078). Through bubble emission, operators are able to visually pinpoint the exact location of a package seal integrity failure. When it comes to ensuring the seal integrity of flexible packaging, we are continually working to improve our products.

“Many of our design improvements are driven by our customers”, says Tanner Vandenberg, Sales and Marketing Manager for Flexpak Leak Detectors Inc.  “When they share their goals in what they would like to achieve in package leak detection, we listen and make changes wherever we can or wherever it may make the most sense”.

Recent design improvements included extra-large drain ports on our acrylic vacuum chambers. One of our customers, a dairy processor, requested extra large drain ports for their acrylic vacuum chambers.  The reasons were twofold.  First, if a package were to burst, food solids could easily be flushed down the larger drain and later washed away during a washdown operation.  Second, when changing the chamber water, especially on larger tanks, the drain time was significantly reduced. Many industries have foodstuff that can contaminate tank water if a package bursts rather than only developing a microleak during a bubble emission test.

Extra-large drain ports are only one of the many improvements we have made to deliver an outstanding package leak detector to our customers. Testing with a FlexPak Leak Detector can help improve the quality and integrity of flexible packaging packages through simple and reliable seal integrity tests. Applications for a FlexPak Leak Detector  include dairy packaging leak detection, food packaging leak detection, hygiene products package leak detection, and many other applications of packaged products.
