Using a Package Leak Detector
The FlexPak package leak detector can be used to test a variety of packaging types, including stand-up pouches, packages with modified atmosphere packaging (MAP), rigid trays, vacuum skin packs, thermoform packages, sachets, flow wraps, form fill seal (VFFS) and re-closable packages. Wherever package seal integrity is critical, our vacuum seal tester can be used to detect faults in your package’s seal, seam, or closure before it leaves your facility – saving you thousands of dollars in potential recalls and spoiled product.
How the Vacuum Seal Tester Works
The FlexPak leak detector and seal integrity testing device consists of a clear acrylic vacuum tank (or “water bath”), a control valve, and a vacuum gauge. The leak detector utilizes stainless-steel working parts to avoid corrosion and ensure the highest durability.
To operate the leak detector, the acrylic vacuum tank is first filled with water before simply placing your package inside the tank. The lid is then closed, and the vacuum can then be engaged. If bubbles appear, you have a leak! The operator will visually be able to determine the location of the leak and can alter manufacturing to remedy the issue. A complete test can be accomplished in just a matter of seconds – providing confidence in the integrity of your package’s seals and seams.
